Several customers in the past have asked about a very small and light unit that can be used to charge batteries and iPhones, iPads, and such. These people stated that they didn't need 120 volt AC power, hence no need for an inverter. One gentleman lamented that he had purchased a small solar charger, but it took so long to charge his phone, that it was, in his words, "functionally useless". The problem, as he put it, was that the phone had to be plugged in while the sun was shining, meaning he couldn't really use the phone while it was plugged in, and at a max output of 2 watts, it took many hours to charge anything. 

So, we decided to put together a very small version of our Model 175, using a 10 amp/hr AGM battery, coupled with either a 20 watt fixed solar panel, or the ultra-handy folding 27 watt panel shown above. The beauty of this unit is that the panel can be hung in a window, and the internal battery will charge all the time the sun is shining. This allows the user to plug in any USB devices or a compatible battery charger for D, C, AA, AAA, or 9 volt rechargeable batteries anytime, day or night, and they will be rapidly charged at the maximum rate the device supports. We use a lot of CR123 batteries here for various duties, and now use the Model 120 prototype to keep them charged.
